A simple room TV antenna with its own hands. Advantages and disadvantages of indoor antennas for a TV with an amplifier.

Today, digital broadcasting is fashionable, until everyone dares to buy a plate. It is expensive, there is another alternative. In Russia, in 2009, a campaign was launched to create a national network of digital multiplexes. Channels that transmit a dozen programs at the same frequency. Each receives a frame slot, is perceived by a special input of the receiver (DVB-T) of a plasma or liquid crystal panel. Today came the second generation of devices (DVB-T2), be careful when choosing. Which antenna is better for a TV. Digital? You will find also TVs with DVB-S receiver.

Modern TVs

The Tale of Bygone Years began with personal computers working with numbers, applied specific standards, now the epic spread to develop television. Compression of information by Mpeg protocols, partitioning, framing by packets by network protocols, transmission of service data by communication channels. The first TV tuners, satellite receivers began to flood the country, as expansion boards of personal computers. Then external models began to be produced, internal interfaces for a long time sported more performance. The first protocols were generally parallel (ISA). Today they use internal high-performance devices, like graphics accelerators, TV tuners and satellite receivers migrate to USB ports.

Not surprising. If the hard disks began to be released external, the video stream, as a rule, consumes much less traffic than the typical data exchange. Know the basic composition of the equipment to receive satellite and digital broadcasting. The set is similar:

  1. Antenna.
  2. Receiver.
  3. If necessary, a smart card decrypts commercial channels.

An antenna is a satellite dish or an indoor "wave channel" for horizontal polarization. The digital receiver, construction methods in the sense of circuitry are similar. It is worth noting: unlike personal computers, which are always deprived of integrated means of this area, TVs do contain built-in receivers. It remains to connect the antenna cable. This relates to digital, satellite broadcasting.

However, consultants say slippery, we think the best way is to call the manufacturer of the TV, to find out what equipment will be needed to watch the programs. Commercial stations provide a special smart card, or organize a server on the Internet, distributing the key paid in advance. In the latter case, the trial period option is available to make sure that there are conditions for using the service and quality. Nobody forces to take a cat in a poke. Where to connect a smart card. Ask the TV manufacturer!

Antennas for watching television

Now about the antennas. It would be desirable to look multiplex or the satellite, it is necessary to learn methods of reception of a signal. Why not discuss analog channels, radio. Pass slowly on the figure:

  1. The best antenna for a digital TV adopts horizontal polarization of the frequency range 420 - 870 MHz.
  2. The best television aerials of satellite broadcasting are plates.

In the fire case, we focus attention on the Internet had to come across a typical indoor antenna, which was called satellite. It's not funny, the producers of paraboloids will be in shock, when the gizmos will be able to catch the Eutelsat W4 36.0E signal! Once and for all remember, the satellite hangs over the equator, the signal will receive an antenna with a giant gain of 30 - 40 dB. Digital terrestrial broadcasting catches horizontal polarization, the antenna will be assembled by the student himself:

  • it is necessary to know the frequency of broadcasting;
  • calculate the wavelength;
  • take a piece of cable RK - 75;
  • cut the screen by a quarter wave from one end;
  • on the other - put the connector for docking with the receiver;
  • the length of the cable is horizontal.

End of a fairy tale. Is it simple, really? Now try to assemble independently the paraboloid, providing the irradiator with horizontal polarization. We believe that the issue of digital and satellite TV is closed!

Let's talk about which TV antenna is better. Take digital broadcasting, equipment will share two classes:

  1. Directional antennas.
  2. Omnidirectional antennas.

The first are good when they have confidence, from which side the signal will come. The higher the gain, so you will achieve a good result with a passive antenna. It is achieved by cutting off the noise coming from all sides, the sensitivity of the given direction, on the contrary, increases. A well-considered method provides an improvement in the quality of reception. The effect of multipath disappears, causing the image to double-rotate, lubricating the image.

Omnidirectional antennas are good, planning to receive the signal of several towers. Catch the channel is easier, the quality can be lower (not relevant to digital television, colored squares will appear there).

Strict talk deserve a satellite dish. Some paraboloids take the signal of two or more spacecraft. And the broadcasting goes on different frequencies. Two or more irradiators are installed, each aimed at a satellite. The gain is falling, as the squadron of irradiators closes the view of the plate. The result is positive, but if you want, contact the toroidal antenna setup. The irradiators are moved beyond the radial path by the addition of a single reflector, reminiscent of a part of the toroid, which is why the device received the name.

Cable and receiver of digital and satellite TV

We will discuss how to improve the signal of a television antenna.

As the feeder used the good old RC - 75. Today you will find a wire with much better characteristics. Take with a wave impedance of 75 ohms. Room antennas go in the store without active amplification predominantly. It is easy to understand by the fact whether the device is suitable for an electrical power cable or adapter. In the case of a passive antenna, the length between the installation site and the cable must be kept to a minimum. Decrease the attenuation of the signal. Otherwise, the best antenna for the TV will not help much in taking the gear. Pay attention, unnecessary reinforcement is avoided. On the screen of the TV will go red and white snow, possibly the appearance of a double image.

The gain factor is adjusted automatically, we do not exclude the existence of models that require manual tuning, worse than those that can not be controlled. You can use the attenuator, by the way, you can make by yourself. In the simplest case, the usual resistive power divider. A primitive option, which will reduce the design efficiency, wastes energy. The network calculates the calculator of the U-shaped attenuator. Not sure that the device is fully suitable for our case, but, as an option, - of course!

As for the opposite case, the problem is solved by optimizing the gain. It is possible to assemble a simple circuit on transistors, not the fact that such a one, only cheaper, will not be found in the nearest market. Be careful, the equipment is sensitive, you can easily burn by improper switching or poor-quality circuitry.

Recall, the receiver is built into the TV at times, the issue is discussed with the dealer, manufacturer, instruction. To configure the satellite equipment you need to change a number of settings, made through the TV menu. And on the computer there is a special text file, including startup parameters. Re-flashing the equipment is not required.

Remarks

In the end I would like to add, it is necessary to choose the equipment (TV), which gives the possibility of connection to the Internet. Providers of satellite broadcasting provide services for the most part remotely. Imposes restrictions. How to configure the system, the manufacturer must know. We do not exclude that I forgot to lay the opportunity. But just in case, inquire additionally. The process is called card sharing.

Many television antennas are made by themselves. Portal YourTechnik has published relevant reviews. The best TV antenna for a dacha is definitely homemade. Although it is possible to bring from the city, it is preferable to have a half-wave vibrator. Applies to the radio reception too. You will find a wonderful opportunity to organize communication on walkie-talkies by installing the appropriate antenna on the house, the rear window of the car.

The choice of a television antenna is not such a simple matter as it might seem at first glance. The type of antenna that you need depends on many factors. This is the area of residence, and remoteness from the television tower, and the presence of interference, and the number of desired channels.

To date, there are three main types of antennas: satellite, outdoor and indoor antennas for TV. Our today's article will tell you about how to choose a room TV antenna. Let's find out what this device is, and what nuances should be considered when buying it.

Television Room Antenna

This type of antenna is suitable only for those users who live in the zone of a moderate signal. In other words, the inhabitants of the remote area with poor reception of the signal of a simple indoor antenna (even with an amplifier) will not be enough.

Among the advantages of indoor antennas are:

  • compactness- such an antenna does not take much space in your apartment;
  • mobility- it can easily be moved from room to room, connected to another television set, transported to another apartment or to a dacha;
  • low cost  - Compared to a satellite and outdoor antenna, you can purchase this unit at a relatively low price.

The main drawbacks of active indoor TV antennas are, firstly, their low performance, and secondly, the need for location in 20-30 km from the nearest telecentre, and thirdly, an obligatory fine tuning. Keep in mind that finding near the tower is also not an ideal option: in this case, there will be other kinds of noise, for example, signal reflection. To get rid of them, you need a device, the reverse of the amplifier (it's called an attenuator).

Types of indoor antennas

There are two main types of indoor antennas - the pivot and frame ones.

Recently, a new type of indoor antenna has become more popular: all-wave log-periodic antennas designed for the decimeter range. They are also called broadband, because they can "catch" a large number of frequency channels, giving a qualitative picture.

So, let's draw conclusions. The indoor antenna makes sense to buy, if you live in a city (not in the outback) with a normal signal reception, the nearest TV tower is located within 30 km from your home, and you want to adjust the signal quality a little, without spending too much money on it.

Also you can make an antenna yourself and even out.

The indoor antenna for a TV is a simple device that receives a television signal. It is used in the building and installed on a television receiver, which is connected with a special coaxial cable. This type of receiver differs from other types of antennas in the simplicity of design and low cost.

Advantages of a home wave receiver:

  • low price;
  • easy installation and connection;
  • compact size;
  • possibility of free movement if necessary.

The main disadvantages are:

  • each channel has to be set up separately;
  • works only in the immediate vicinity of the broadcaster;
  • sensitive to obstructions in the form of buildings, plants, precipitation, and so on;
  • it does not ensure the transmission of a signal of good quality without interference.

The reception efficiency and signal quality depend on the following conditions:

  • at what distance from the repeater is the indoor antenna. A repeater is a powerful antenna that not only receives a signal, but also transmits or transmits it to space. The repeater is also called a television tower. A separate transceiver is installed in each region or locality. The farther away from the tower there is the wave receiver, the worse it will be to catch the signal;
  • from the type of the wave receiver and the presence of additional devices that amplify the signal;
  • at what level of height is the device relative to the television tower;
  • from the presence of obstacles between the tower and the antenna and their features. This refers to the structure and their height, landscape, vegetation;
  • from the location of the wave receiver in the building. Most often they are installed on the TV itself or on the nearest window, which allows improving the characteristics of the received signal.

Indoor Antennas: Basic Types and Description

Wave receivers used in the building are divided into several types according to the design features and the maximum wavelength that can be captured.

  1. Antenna meter - the simplest representative of home receivers. Capable of capturing a wave signal that is in the meter range. It is a structure consisting of a stand, in which a transformer with two movable "whiskers" is placed in the form of thin telescopic rods, and a cable connected to the TV. Such a construction for signal reception will show a good result of work only if it is installed at the nearest distance from the broadcasting tower. Metro wave receivers are not popular among buyers, as modern TV channels have almost completely switched to digital broadcasting. About five Russian channels are left in the meter range.
  2. A decimetric or loop antenna is a type of receiver that operates with a range of decimeter waves. It is a device consisting of a base, an open contour of the frame and a cable for connection to a set-top box or to a television set. This type of receiver is able to provide a good signal at a distance from the broadcaster to 30 km.
  3. A hybrid receiver (all-wave) is a device type, the design of which allows to receive both meter and decimeter waves of a television signal. Convenience is the ability to switch between bands as needed.
  4. A passive wave receiver is a conventional device for capturing a signal without additional options to enhance the sensitivity and efficiency of wave perception.
  5. Antenna active for the TV is a device that includes a special amplifier for improving the quality of the received signal. Receivers with an amplifier are used at a great distance from the broadcaster's tower or in cases where the signal needs to be divided into several TV sets. Since the quality of the signal degrades during splitting.

The most widespread was the home antenna for a TV set, capable of capturing digital television signals. Therefore, we consider this type of wave receiver in more detail.

Home digital antenna: features of choice

Digital indoor TV antennas are the kind of wave receivers that receive a wave signal of the decimeter range. In another way, this type of antennas is called DVB / T2 format receivers. That is, in fact, these are the same UHF antennas.

  • the marking on the package usually indicates the type of receiver for the different formats of television broadcasting. If it is indicated that an antenna of the DMV type for reception of an air signal, this does not mean that for DVB / T2 it is necessary to buy a separate wave receiver. Since any DMV wave receiver can catch a digital television signal when there is a built-in or external receiver;
  • the presence of a cable, mounting stands or attachments for hanging the receiver.
  • Therefore, consider some models, most of which had better performance under different installation conditions.

    1. Model of the wave receiver with the Mini Digital amplifier from the Saratov electromechanical factory "Remo". The device is a frame with small suction cups for attaching to the window and a stand in the form of a small box. The installation requires a power connection to the amplifier. The kit also includes a three-meter cable to connect to the TV. Mini Digital is designed to receive a signal of the DMV format, and hence DVB / T
    2. Sirius series 2.0. - home antenna on a stand without an amplifier. It is designed to receive decimeter waves. The zone of action declared by the manufacturer is up to 45 km.
    3. Chinese wave receiver Denn DAA series 238. The model is equipped with an amplifier and is capable of receiving up to 20 channels of television plus about three signals of radio channels.

    What to do if the indoor antenna does not "catch"

    The poor quality of the received signal does not always indicate that the receiver design is inefficient. Before you change the purchased wave receiver, you need to try to make some actions. Perhaps they will help improve the quality of the received signal:

    1. Change the height of the "mustache" or the device itself. Some interference may not transmit the signal at the level at which the antenna is installed. It happens that changing the height of the setting on the TV or on the window leads to an improvement in the signal.
    2. If the antenna is mounted on a plastic window, the metal-plastic window design itself can be a hindrance. In this case, the antenna can be mounted on an additional stand or fixed to the glass.
    3. Change the angle of rotation of the entire device or its moving parts. Sometimes the perpendicular arrangement of the antenna relative to the signal source gives a tangible improvement in quality.
    4. Change the position of the device or its angle relative to the repeater is necessary smoothly, since it happens that even a shift of 5 millimeters affects the signal.

    If all the necessary settings have been made and the signal has not been "caught" or it turned out that the distance to the translator's tower is too high, in this case a street antenna for the TV will be a good alternative.

    What are outdoor antennas?

    The design of such devices is more complicated, but, like the room ones, they are designed to receive the signal of terrestrial television. There are meter, DMV and DVB / T2. To install outdoor wave receivers, you will need a special coaxial cable with reinforced insulation and a sufficient level of height. The further the tower is, the higher it is to install such an antenna.

    In the most remote from television towers it is better to install a satellite dish. A parabolic antenna, or "dish", is designed to receive television and radio signals transmitted by a satellite. To operate this type of antenna, you need a special tuner and coaxial cable. The size of the dish is selected depending on the region where it will be installed, as well as on the operating range of the radio frequency signal of the satellite to which the device will be tuned.

    In conclusion, I would like to note that the purchase of an expensive antenna does not guarantee an excellent quality of the received signal. Since, in addition to the characteristics of the receiver itself, environmental factors that have a significant influence on the damping, reflection and transmission of waves in space are equally important. Therefore, it is impossible to unequivocally name any particular model of the antenna good or bad. In this case, when buying, you must, first of all, be based on the features of the terrain where the device will be installed.

    Television antennas today can significantly improve the quality of the channels shown, and sometimes increase their range. The number of options and the quality level directly depend on which antenna you choose. About what kind of antenna to buy for a TV and how to choose it right, we read further.

    Selection options

    There are several different criteria, based on which you can choose exactly this model, which will be better for you. The main points here are:

    1. Frequency of broadcasting. The main criterion influenced by this indicator is the number of channels. Among the main frequencies, we can distinguish the following three:
    • from 3 to 30 MHz (HF);
    • from 30 to 300 MHz (MV (VHF));
    • from 300 to 900 (UHF).
    1. The names of these frequencies are given in parentheses, which are usually used instead of numerical symbols. It works like this: the larger the channel, the greater the frequency. Accordingly, it is better to buy a more powerful model with larger requests.
    2. The possibility of signal amplification. By this criterion, devices can be divided into active and passive.
    3. Prospective location. Antenna can be indoor, outdoor or hybrid. Accordingly, the indoor antenna is most conveniently located in the house, outdoor - in the outer space, the location of the hybrid can vary.
    4. By Range. As for what antennas are here, it's broadband and narrowband. The first of them are more preferable, since they can "catch" virtually all the broadcast channels. With narrowband, it will be easier for you to work if the frequency of the desired channels is known in advance.

    Types of antennas

    The most common classification, according to which you can divide the antenna for a TV, is one that divides devices into street and room. The main choice stands right here, so consider the advantages and disadvantages:

    • Room antenna.  As for technical characteristics, such antennas are much worse than street ones. They catch, as a rule, fewer channels, and the quality of those caught often leaves much to be desired. Of course, modern models offer more opportunities, but still much inferior to street ones.

    Of the advantages can be distinguished simplicity of connection. What kind of indoor antenna you choose, you can always connect it yourself, just by plugging the plug into a suitable socket of the TV.

    The ideal place for installation is a window opening that allows the antenna to work at maximum capacity.

    • Outdoor antenna. If you still decide which antenna to buy for a TV, then you can be sure that this is the best option. The fact is that the higher the antenna is located, the greater and more qualitative its functions and capabilities, the more channels of high quality it will catch.

    It is important to remember that not all street models are installed on the roof (remember, for example, "dishes" of satellite TV). You can install some of them yourself, but in general, it's best to use the help of professionals to do this.

    It is better not to install the antennas intended for the roof yourself.

    Those who decide which antenna to buy for the TV, the following recommendations will come in handy. Based on them you can find the ideal model for you at a reasonable price:

    1. First of all, it is necessary to determine the requirements for television. If you want a good, high-quality TV with a lot of channels, then it's definitely best to put a street model. To view standard channels, you can use the home channel.
    2. If you want to install satellite TV, the only option for you is a dish antenna. No other will sufficiently capture the signal.

    For cable television, street antennas are most often used.

    1. Frequency range. As mentioned before, the higher the frequency, the wider the assortment of channels.
    2. Active or passive antenna? Almost in all situations, an active antenna will work for your home, with which you will always have the opportunity to regulate your capabilities.
    3. The price range. Like many other home appliances, TV antennas have different manufacturers, in which you will find a wide range of prices. Different in value, but similar in performance models will not be much different. Whatever the situation is, even the cheapest antenna will always be better than a self-made version, which may not only be ineffective, but even dangerous.

    Review of the best models

    The following overview will help you decide which antenna to choose for the TV, and also to understand which models are best for this or that case.

    Budget variant of a street antenna, the price of which varies within the limits of 1000 rubles. The compact model can capture up to 69 channels in good quality.

    The room model is a powerful enough antenna with HD TV support. Ideal for working with digital television. The cost is within 1600 rubles.

    Another version of a street model with an amplifier for watching digital TV in good quality. If you have a limited budget, and you do not know what television antenna to buy, then this option will come at an opportune time: the price of this antenna varies within 600 rubles.

    Stylish, compact, active model for the house, which is better suited for a small number of channels, but in good quality. The approximate cost of such a model is only 1000 rubles.

    In the next video, a specialist will tell in detail which is best to purchase an antenna and why street models are preferable to indoor ones.

    To select an antenna, it is important to determine the most important parameters for yourself and, in accordance with them, to choose the appropriate model. The choice is wide enough, and you can always find something that suits your requirements.

    In contact with

    We are so used to the flow of information that without it we feel insecure. Therefore, outside the city, having equipped more or less a house, the first thing is a TV. And that in rural areas he worked, you need a television antenna for the dacha. It is selected depending on the location of the nearest repeater - the TV tower and the type of TV signal that you will "catch".

    Today there are several types of signals, and accordingly, as many types of antennas:

    Aerial TV antenna: what to choose for summer residence

    To say exactly which antenna to put in your dacha can only be applied to each specific case. The choice takes into account:

    • location - plain, hill, lowland;
    • the presence or absence of forests and large trees near the house;
    • distance to the nearest repeater.

    The main importance is the distance to the TV tower and the one to which. height you can lift the antenna. Sometimes every meter matters.

    Indoor or outdoor

    Room antennas can be set only if the repeater is in your line of sight. If you see a TV tower from your country plot, you can try. In order not to waste money, you can make the most simple antenna yourself: take a piece of wire, connect it to the corresponding connector of the TV, and walk around with this "antenna" around the room, rise higher to the ceiling, closer to the window, etc. If at least some signals are caught, you can try or buy.

    Outdoor antennas "catch" in tens of kilometers from the repeaters

    If there are no signs of a clear signal for all movements, you need an outdoor antenna, but for a zone of confident reception (with less gain). For all other cases, when the distance to the tower is tens of kilometers, you need a unique external antenna.

    Broadband or narrowly focused

    Since terrestrial television is broadcast in two bands - decimeter and meter, then under these ranges there are antennas. If the receiver "catches" a signal in only one range, they are called narrowband. They are only for the DMV or only for the MB frequencies.

    There are still broadband (called still all-wave) - their design is designed so that it was possible to normally receive a signal at all frequencies. They are usually more bulky and heavy, they have a long barbell. But with this reconcile - a broadband TV antenna for the dacha can "catch" more channels. Because most often they are bought.

    Active or passive

    More attention should be paid to whether the active or passive antenna is better to put. Active is a device with a built-in amplifier. Passive - this is only a piece of iron, to which you need to buy an amplifier separately.

    Active, with built-in amplifier receivers are cheaper, take more channels, but they have a significant disadvantage: amplifier boards often break down. Any more or less serious thunderstorm, and channels that were previously taken clearly, begin to "snow" or even disappear. Can help a disaster replacement board. To do this, you need to climb onto the roof, remove the antenna, change the board, install it again and adjust it. This procedure can be repeated after each thunderstorm.

    Even if thunderstorms did not affect the performance of your summer antenna, still in a year and a half the number of well-received channels decreases. Quality is gradually getting worse, and sooner or later, you notice that it is already impossible to look. The reason is oxidation of contacts and elements on the board. Receivers on the antenna are far from airtight and dust, moisture is getting inside, destroying contacts and paths. Therefore, the average life of an active antenna is about one year. Not a thunderstorm, so the oxidation will do it.

    The best antenna for summer cottages: inactive with a separate amplifier

    With a thunderstorm nothing can help, and oxidation can be significantly slowed down, if immediately after buying on both sides to fill the board with silicone. This will protect contacts and elements from oxidation. Repair it anyway no one will, if the board "flew", buy a new one and put it in place. That's the whole repair. It is also useful to seal the cable connection site. Here, too, due to oxidation, there are large signal losses.

    Passive antennas with separate amplifiers are good in that the "piece of iron" is installed above the roof, and the amplifier - in the attic. Replacing the board in the attic causes much less problems than on the roof. Especially in the winter. They "catch" a smaller number of channels, but the picture is "cleaner".

    There is one more plus: separate amplifiers have two adjustments - separately for the DMV band and MB. This is useful, because sometimes some signals come with a much higher level and they "hammer" the weaker ones. Then overlapping of sound and / or image is observed, in some cases, if some signal is very strong, in general there is a continuous "snow". Adjusting the sensitivity of the bands can save the situation. So passive antennas with separate amplifiers for cottages are the best choice.

    In TVs "Samsung" and "El Gee" in general there is a "weak signal" function. In this case, you may not need an amplifier at all. Put a passive antenna in the country, turn on the mode, and set up the channels. It should be good to show at least 5-6 channels.

    Earth or not

    Another problem that needs to be solved is whether a TV antenna should be grounded for a summer residence. On the one hand, it is often the highest point. On the other hand, if it is grounded, it will catch any lightning bolt that will be nearby. Accordingly, each time you have to change the board, because it will fail.

    For this reason, "antennas" insist that they do not need to be grounded. Especially if the device is below the power wires. Lightning then hits the highest grounded point. The main thing is that it's not your antenna.

    Which antennas are better

    As usual, in addition to the type of equipment, you have to choose the manufacturer. And this, perhaps, is not at all simpler. Help can recommendations. On the forums of popular manufacturers a few:

    • Lokus. Antennas of Russian production. Wide assortment, low prices (from 480 rubles to 1,7 thousand rubles). There are both active - with a built-in amplifier, and passive.
    • Harpoon. Also an antenna of Russian production. It takes in the zones of the DMV and MB range. Issued only in a passive form, designed for installation in areas of uncertain reception. Retail price - Harpoon-0416 - 1500 rubles, Harpoon-1028 - 2300 rubles.
    • Antenna "Delta" produced by CJSC "NPP OST". Here the range is very wide. There are as narrowly focused only for MB or only for the DMV bands, and broadband ones. Moreover, the DMV antennas can be used to receive DVB-T2 digital television signal. Many models are equipped with an F-connector - the device through which the cable is connected: during installation, you do not need to disassemble it to connect it. Insulated conductor is inserted into the socket. All. The cable is connected.
    • GoldMaster (GoldMaster). There are few reviews, but according to available information, it is reliable even in the zone of uncertain reception. Even during rain, the quality of the signal almost does not fall. The picture is still clear, without "snow."

    All other manufacturers are not very popular.

    For inactive antennas, amplifiers are also needed. Here, too, has its own preferences:

    • House amplifier LHA;
    • TERRA (Terra);
    • Powerful low noise amplifier Breeze, Alcad.

    Antenna Installation

    Before the beginning of all work, it is useful to screw all the cogs, nuts, antenna connections with "Movil" or "Litol", something similar in properties. If an active antenna is selected, it is better to seal the board with silicone. After such processing, the antenna will serve not a year, but much longer.

    About what cable to use for connection. Here it is better not to try to save: there will be too much loss. Therefore take branded SAT 50 or SAT 703. From the quality of the cable and the quality of the connections, the "picture" depends not less than on reception.

    TV antenna for cottages: where and how to install

    The installation site is chosen taking into account where you need to send the antenna. If the roof and wind loads allow, you can fix it on the roof. In order to raise the receiver above, the antenna is attached to the mast. For this, there are special clamps.

    In some cases, you have to raise the antenna as high as possible - in the lowlands or if the trees overlap the reception. Then telescopic bars will be useful

    Masts are metal prefabricated, there are telescopic masts - folding. This kind is more convenient, especially if the antenna with the receiver - periodically it will be necessary to change the board, and completely dismantle the mast every time - it's fun. Telescopic masts can be lowered by unscrewing the locking ring. The antenna fixed on the top will fall along with the top of the rod.

    If you do not need to lift it high, you can use a wooden bar or a stubble trunk of a young pine. This is a very dacha option. You can use a steel pipe not very large diameter or corner. The options are the sea. Selected support you need to fix it. Methods of attachment are shown in the figure.

    Most often there is an antenna fastening on the pediment. It is implemented most easily, but only if the finish or wall material allows. So do not attach to the walls, siding, and - too difficult. Then the option is to fix the bar to the pipe, to the rafters, or on the stretch marks to the roofing material.

    When attaching to the pediment, the distance between the fasteners must be at least 1.5 meters. If none of these methods can be realized for some reason, you can try to install the antenna on a nearby tree near a powerful one. Attach the antenna to the trunk, and trim the branches that interfere with the reception. Sometimes this is the best way.

    Cable fixing

    When installing the antenna, the cable is lowered down along the rod. It is fastened with yokes every 50-80 cm. By lowering the cable to the level of the roofing material, it is brought along the ridge (to ensure that the snow does not come off) to the bracket, with which it is lowered from the roof. The bracket is attached above the window near the TV. Cable enters the room through the hole in the window frame. With an upward slope, a hole of a slightly larger diameter is drilled than the diameter of the cable. So the rain drops will not fall inside the frame. The cable in front of the frame should be slightly sagged - so let's freeze on the temperature changes.

    If the TV aerial for the dacha is inactive, the amplifier is installed in the attic, the cable from the antenna is led to it, and from the amplifier to the TV.

    One tip: when laying, you need to avoid steep bends. Minimum radius - not less than 5 cable diameters. When fastening with staples, do not squeeze it.
